Getting Started Can I transfer credits from CBTS to other schools? Credits from CBTS have been accepted at several evangelical institutions, subject to the policies and degree requirements of each school. The student who expects to receive a degree from an institution other than CBTS should write for specific information concerning applicability of work taken through CBTS. Several major seminaries have been willing to either accept transfer credit from CBTS or recognize a CBTS degree as the prerequisite for pursuing advanced degrees.  Initial Setup How do I begin using Logos? If you have access to a full theological library other than Logos, you can apply for an exemption using the Logos Exemption Request . If you have any questions about these instructions, feel free to contact us at support@cbtseminary.org . Purchasing Logos Visit logos.com. Click Start free trial.   Choose a subscription plan.  After you choose a subscription plan, then you can select a library package. Students must have, at minimum, the Pro subscription (for Logos 11 or higher) and a Bronze level library package. Create an account and finalize your purchase. Installing and Using Logos Click here to view the Logos Support page and see articles about installation and use of Logos. After Logos Is Installed Once you have access to your Logos package, contact the registrar ( support@cbtseminary.org ), to be added to the Faithlife group. Do I need access to a theological library? All students are required to have access to a theological research library. Students must have at minimum a Bronze level  Logos Bible Software package and a Pro (or higher) subscription if using Logos 11 or higher. For instructions on how to get Logos, click here . If you have access to a full theological library other than Logos, you can apply for an exemption using the Logos Exemption Request . How do I register my mentor? How do I register my mentor? Every Pastoral Track student is required to have a mentor. MATS/DTS, MABS/DBS, and MABC/DBC students should skip this step. Please use this form to register your mentor. How do I upload my signed mentor agreement? All pastoral track (MDiv, BDiv, MAPS, DPS) students are required to have a signed mentor agreement. Students in other programs should skip this step. See here for proper forms Upload your signed agreement in the Orientation step titled "Upload Signed Mentor Agreement" under section 11 . How do I set up my proctor? Find at least one person (we recommend finding two or three proctors if possible) with the necessary qualifications and enter his/her name and email information in Pathway . When you are taking a live class, you will need to make sure that the instructor has the email address for your proctor when you begin the class.  Please note that after you enter your proctor's information in Pathway, you are all set. You should not expect a confirmation or approval notification. How do I upload my pastoral recommendation letter? All pastoral track students (MDiv, BDiv, MAPS, or DPS) must have a pastoral recommendation letter unless they are already serving as an elder/pastor. (All other students should skip this step.) Please visit cbtseminary.org/apply How do I register for courses? Enrolled students use the CBTS Hub to register for classes. Enrolled students now register through the CBTS Hub (you can find a guide for using the Hub in  this article ). Auditors register directly in Pathway via the Catalog sidebar option. Is it better to take one class at a time, or multiple at once? Some students prefer to take just one class at a time, others prefer to take multiple classes at once. You are free to choose whichever method works best for you. There is no difference in cost. What are the procedures for guidance counseling and academic advising? Guidance Counseling and Academic Advising of CBTS Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary is committed to assisting students throughout the entirety of their educational experience, from matriculation and enrollment through graduation and becoming alumni. Students are encouraged to reach out and request assistance from the school Registrar or Academic Dean for any counseling needs. CBTS' Counseling program is available for and designed to help the student stay on track and reach their individual goals, whether they be personal, ministry related or educational goals. The Academic Dean & registrar lead and direct in planning the student's academic coursework and serve as a guide for the student's educational experience. They work with the student to select the correct courses which fulfill specific degree requirements, are most reasonable with the student's current life circumstances, and appropriately prepare the student for future ministry. Students are encouraged to touch base with either the Registrar or Academic Dean at least on a semester basis to ensure they are on track for completing their graduate degree. Students should contact their counselor if they have any of the following questions: Which courses should I take in the upcoming semester? Which Graduate Program is the best fit for me? How many electives can I take within my degree? What mentoring requirements are necessary for me to complete my degree? Are their prerequisites for certain courses? Can I switch degree programs? Can I transfer credits toward my degree? What should my course load be with where I am at in life? Financially, what does my education look like? Since nearly all students are distance education learners (online), they are encouraged to schedule a phone appointment with either the Registrar or Academic Dean. This can be done by emailing the Registrar's Office at b.cassell@cbtseminary.org. Students desiring a copy of or an update regarding their progress report should fill out a Student Progress Report request form in Pathway, on the Student Resources section. Which classes should I take first? Below you will find the classes we recommend students begin with for each program. If you are transferring credits from another institution, contact  info@cbtseminary.org  to discuss what class(es) would be best to start out with.  ST14 Symbolics (Intro to the 1689 Confession) is the first class every student must take, and it is best taken in conjunction with WR11 for all tracks except MARBS. ( Please note that master's level classes involve a higher workload than bachelor's level classes. All CBTS classes are master's level, including the BDiv and diploma classes. We recommend you start with WR11 and ST14 and, if you find the workload manageable, add another class. If not, stick with two classes at the beginning ). How do I enroll to begin taking classes? When you are ready to enroll for classes, submit the CBTS Enrollment Request form after completing Orientation. If you are looking to register for a class, please see this article. Where do I go to find the online CBTS classes? The CBTS Pathway site (www.cbtspathway.org) is the online portal for CBTS classes. About CBTS What class formats are offered at CBTS? 1 | Live Semester Classes Three to four live semester classes are held each fall & spring semester. They are facilitated online via conferencing software so that students can interact directly with the professor. All Biblical Languages course are taught in this format. 2 | Live Modular Classes Modular courses are held 3 times a year, usually in Owensboro, KY. These present the student with an opportunity to experience a live classroom environment including direct interaction with professors and fellow students. 3 | Self Paced Classes Live courses are all recorded and can be taken at any time on our online campus CBTS Pathway. These courses can be started at any time and due dates are “self-paced,” but students must complete the course within the time frame allotted for that course. What is CBTS?
