Payment & Billing Does CBTS accept the GI Bill (issue 1098-T forms)? Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary cannot accept GI Bill® education benefits because we are not affiliated with or regulated by the U.S. Department of Education. As an independent theological seminary, CBTS is therefore not eligible to participate in federal education funding programs. How can I setup a payment plan?  Use the CBTS Hub to setup a payment plan.  Access the CBTS Hub from within your Pathway account (you must be logged in). Once on the site, you can select the items you want to pay for. After making your selections, proceed to checkout. In the Checkout, select "Pay in 5 monthly installments". Enter your payment details and select the "Start 5-Month Plan" button to finish. Click here for CBTS Hub Instructions. How do I pay semester fees? To pay your semester fee, all you need to do is access the CBTS Hub from within your Pathway account (you must be logged in). Once on the site, you can select the semester fee and checkout. Registering and paying for courses and paying your semester fee is done through CBTS Hub, our payment portal.  You can find instructions to use the CBTS Hub here . CBTS Hub prices are determined by your student information (church partnership status, financial assistance arrangement, etc.). If you see prices, you are not expecting, please contact CBTS Support , and we will ensure your data is correct. You can also setup payment plans through the Hub (5 installments).   Important!   Prerequisites for obtaining CBTS Hub access if you are a new student   You must submit the Enrollment Request Form (Step 5) in order to officially become an active student. Once submitted, our team then sets up your Classter account (Step 6). Please allow 1-2 business days for this step. When these steps are complete, you will then have access to the CBTS Hub. 2025 Tuition & Fee Communication We wanted to remind you of this communication, sent on October 8th, 2024, concerning the price increases for 2025.  Dear Students, At CBTS, one of our primary goals is to offer Informed Scholarship with a Pastoral Heart at an affordable price, ensuring that you are not burdened with debt as you enter the ministry. We are grateful to God for His provision, which has allowed us to maintain the same tuition rate for nearly ten years and the same semester fees for almost five years. However, after careful consideration, we have determined that to continue serving you well, we must raise the tuition rate from $75 to $100 per credit hour and the semester fee from $375 to $450, starting in January 2025. While we all feel the effects of inflation, our decision to raise tuition is not simply about the decreasing value of the dollar. It’s about the increasing value of your education at CBTS. In recent years, we have added a remarkable team of faculty who demonstrate both informed scholarship and pastoral heart in their respective fields. We've also expanded access to these faculty members through Zoom and modular courses, giving you more direct engagement with them. Additionally, we’ve built a dedicated and skilled administrative staff whose growth and development will continue to enhance your student experience. Moreover, we’ve maintained accreditation with the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS), and the hard work of our staff has contributed to ARTS earning recognition from the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Both achievements have significantly upgraded the academic quality and credibility of a degree from CBTS. With these enhancements, we believe your education at CBTS holds far more value today than it did five years ago. However, these improvements do come with real costs. Though we have been reluctant to raise prices for several years, we believe this adjustment is necessary to continue equipping you with the best theological education that we can provide. We are actively pursuing additional ways to enrich your experience at CBTS, and with the Lord’s help, we trust you will see more improvements soon.  If this price increase is a hardship for you, please know that we stand ready to support you. Financial Aid Policy Financial Aid can be sought by completing the financial aid request form which can be accessed from the Student Resource page of cbtseminary.org.  Financial Aid consideration is governed by the following policies & guidelines. Student Assistance Committee Policies and Guidelines* (1) All student financial assistance will be approved by the student assistance committee. (2) Student financial assistance will be considered only for those students who request it and will not be proactively offered before a student makes known their need for financial assistance. (3) All financial assistance will be given only in response to a formal application to the student assistance committee.  The application form will be approved by the committee and be placed on the website. (4) All student financial assistance will be limited to aid with semester fees and tuition. (5) The total student financial assistance for each fiscal year will be limited to the budget approved amount except where special approval is sought from the chairman of the financial committee. (6) Each year the budget shall include a line item for student assistance. (7) If an applicant is closely related to a member of the budget committee, that member will recuse himself from discussions related to the financial assistance of that applicant.  The meaning of “closely related” for this purpose of this policy will be determined by the members of the committee not related to the applicant.  (8) None of the restrictions placed on student financial assistance shall be construed as restricting a church or churches from offering assistance to a student through benevolence, pastoral internships, or other such positions. (9) These guidelines will be openly stated in the catalog of the Seminary. (10) The student financial assistance committee will meet once at the beginning of each CBTS semester, but will meet more often as necessary.  The committee may grant financial assistance by convening via email outside of the semi-annual meetings. (11) At the semi-annual meetings the funds available for student assistance in the budget will be reviewed and any requests for student assistance considered. Additionally, In the July-August meeting the committee will decide on its recommendation for the amount of the scholarship assistance line item in the annual budget. (12) The annual financial report provided to the CBTS Board at the March meeting each year will include a report of student financial assistance granted in the previous school year. *Policy created and approved by the committee May 24, 2018.
